Dog rose is a perennial shrub which will climb and scramble through a native hedge, tree or trellis. Simple pale pink flowers adorn the rambler, followed by bright red berries in the Autumn
Wildlife attracted:
The flowers are an important source of nectar, and later in the year, birds such as  blackbirds, redwings and waxwing love the red berries
Other features:
The rose hips were traditionally made into Rose hip syrup as they contain a high amount of Vitamin C
