Field poppy

The Field poppy is the well known bright red annual poppy.  It is often seen along roadsides or field margins and prefers full sun. To keep a display year after year, it needs to drop its seed in a soil which is disturbed or dug each year in the Autumn. Although it is also easy to save the seed and resow each year into freshly dug soil. However, it will not grow in a wildflower meadow,  therefore  it’s best  to sow a separate bed for annuals.
