Sanicle is one of the indicator plants of ancient deciduous woodland. A bit of a curiosity with small white balls of flowers on fine branching stems.
Other features:
Sanicle may also be called wood elder. The fruits formed from the seeds  have small hooked bristles. Consequently they attach to the fur of animals for dispersal.
Wildlife attracted:
Sanicle  is quite low growing and the leaves can be quite dense therefore it is ideal to be part of a woodland habitat.
