Description
Betony has beautiful pink flower spikes which can last from June – October. It is a slow growing wildflower, therefore is also ideal in a sunny border, or hedgerow. It prefers not to be shaded by other plants. Once established into a clump, it can be split in the Autumn and transplanted. The seeds drop in late Summer, so to keep this wildflower present in your meadow Betony will have to be cut late in the season.
Other features:
Betony has medicinal properties, and is used by herbalists for treating tension headaches, migraines.
Wildlife attracted:
Bees and pollinating insects are attracted to the vibrant pink flower spikes.
