Description
Calamagrostis x acutiflora ‘Avalanche’ is an easy to grow ornamental grass. The green leaves have an attractive white central stripe, with a slender and erect growth habit. This is a tall grass that has great structure.
The feathery flower heads of Calamagrostis x acutiflora ‘Avalanche have a pink tinge, appearing from mid summer, then turn golden as the season progresses. The leaves also have good Autumn colour, so this is a wonderful grass for year round interest.

Growing advice:
A deciduous grass, therefore leave the stems for structure and interest through the winter or to provide shelter for overwintering insects.
Cut back the old stems in the Spring from February – March to allow new growth to shoot.
