Description
The Sword fern is an evergreen fern with long dark green fronds. It is not native to the UK but to Western North America., where it grows in forest regions. The abundant fronds provide foliage all year round, and as a large fern it is great as a shelter for wildlife. It will grow in a range of soil types in shade or part shade; including acidic soils as it’s natural habitat is within coniferous woodlands.
