Description

During our Planting containers for pollinators workshop, we will take a closer look at the planted containers on display at The Blooming Wild Plant Nursery. We will learn how to create beautiful, colourful displays to last through through the season, using perennials and grasses.

The course will cover a choice of containers, compost and plant selection. You’ll learn about aftercare, and how to keep your containers looking good through the season. Together with repotting, deadheading and how to avoid common problems with your planted containers.

In this creative workshop we’ll share with you how to get started. It will be a great opportunity to plant containers for pollinators and help keep your outdoor space buzzing!
The morning will include the following:

Types of containers
Compost & growing media
Plant selection to include wildflowers, herbaceous perennials and grasses
Learn how best to plant containers
Aftercare of your containers

There are 2 options for this course- choose which suits you:
1. Plant a small container to take home at the end of the day.
Container, compost and selection of plants provided

2. Bring your own container to plant up on the day. Choose your own selection of plants to purchase from the nursery.
Compost provided.

This is a hands on course with time spent both outdoors on the nursery and indoors in the propagating polytunnel.

Tea/Coffee and cake on arrival is included to set you up for a busy morning ahead!
