Description
Centaurea montana is a low growing perennial which is loved by bees. The purple- blue flower heads have a dark centre surrounded by rays of delicate cut petals. It flowers prolifically through the summer and is perfect at the front of a border, to add a splash of colour.
The grey-green leaves tend to remain through the year, depending on the weather conditions through the winter.
Centaurea montana is also called the ‘Mountain Cornflower’ as it is native to mountain areas in Europe.
