The annual Cornflower is a well known garden plant but rarely seen now in the wild. It  loves full sun and provides a fantastic display of rich  blue corn-flowers. Plant with other annuals such as Corn marigolds and Corn cockles.  It is traditionally an annual of arable fields but to keep it coming back each year in the garden, let it seed and then dig over the soil in the spring. Or collect some seed  from the plants and resow in the Spring!
Other features:
It can also be used as a natural dye plant.
Wildlife attracted:
In the height of summer the beautiful blue flowers attract hoverflies and parasitic wasps.

The seeds are also loved by birds. Why not add a wild bird feeder to your order to attract birds to your garden through the winter months too
