Field scabious is a lovely blue meadow flower, which can flower from July through to September. It does prefer full sun, and is a favourite with bees and butterflies, so ideal in a wildlife garden. Although it will grow in most areas if well drained, it will do better in an alkaline soil.
It has another common name of Batchelors buttons!
It is the foodplant of the narrow-bordered bee hawk-moth and is loved by butterflies.
The Field scabious plug plants may also be included in the meadow plug plant collection
