Maidenhair spleenwort is a small native fern. It has delicate fronds and in the wild is found growing between rocks, on cliffs or walls. It will grow in shallow soil and prefers alkaline conditions. In the garden it is ideal to plant in a gravel garden, rockery, or along a wall, providing year round interest.
The evergreen leaves provide shelter for wildlife all year round.
This fern spreads by spores so will colonize along the crevices of a wall or rockery over time.
