Description
Salad burnet is a pretty wildflower of chalk grassland. It has pale green flower heads which have a hint of red. The young leaves are edible and with a cool fresh cucumber flavour and fragrance. They are ideal to add to salads or salad dressings as the name suggests. In addition they are perfect to add to a cold drink on a Summer’s day. Easy to grow and perfect for any dry areas of the garden in sun or partial shade.

Salad burnet has other medicinal properties, and can be used in herbal tea. The leaves freeze well for culinary use.
